Round Rock ISD Schools
Round Rock Independent School District (ISD) covers an area of 110 square miles in southern Williamson County and northwest Travis County. It includes the City of Round Rock as well as parts of Cedar Park and Austin, serving both rural and urban communities as well as suburban neighborhoods. In total, Round Rock ISD encompasses 52 campuses including 33 elementary schools, 10 middle schools, 5 high schools and 4 alternative learning centers. In 2015, the district’s schools were attended by about 47,500 students.

Round Rock ISD Accountability Rating
The performance of Texas school districts and their campuses is evaluated by the Texas Education Agency (TEA). Under the criteria of the accountability system, school districts and individual campuses are rated as Met Standard, Met Alternative Standard or Improvement Required, depending on their results in performance index framework which includes: Student Achievement, Student Progress, Closing Performance Gaps and Postsecondary Readiness. Schools rated as Met Standard are eligible for distinction designations. These include Academic Achievement in Reading/English Language Arts, Academic Achievement in Science, Academic Achievement in Mathematics, Academic Achievement in Social Studies, Postsecondary Readiness, Top 25 Percent: Closing Performance Gaps, and Top 25 Percent: Student Progress.

In 2015, all Round Rock ISD schools received the rating of Met Standard and 123 distinctions (in total). Awarded to 29 campuses, Top 25 Percent: Student Progress accounted for the largest number of all earned distinctions, followed by Academic Achievement in Science (23 distinctions) and Academic Achievement in Reading/English Language Arts (21 distinctions). Many schools earned two or more distinctions, with seven schools earning all available/eligible distinctions. They include Spicewood, Sommer, Canyon Creek, Herrington and Laurel Mountain elementary schools, Westwood High School and Canyon Vista Middle School.

Teravista Elementary Accountability Rating and Performance
In 2015, Teravista Elementary School - located within the Teravista community – was rated as Met Standard and earned two distinctions – Top 25: Student Progress and Academic Achievement in Reading/English Language Arts. According to the latest data by the TEA, Teravista Elementary outpaced the target score in three Performance Index areas including Student Performance, Student Progress and Closing Performance Gaps. The school serves the Teravista neighborhoods and is currently attended by 873 students.
