The Christmas season is rapidly approaching and there’s no shortage of festive events and activities hitting our town1 Gear up for Santa sightings, holiday fairs and winter festivals this November. Here are some of our favorite things to do in and around Teravista this month…

November 9 – 11  |  Free Admission
It’s Christmas Time in the City Shopping Event
First Baptist Church Georgetown,  1333 W. University Ave. Georgetown
Come support First Baptist Georgetown Weekday Education Center with some amazing shopping, fellowship, and eats! They will have over 70 vendors and a portion of all sales goes to the preschool. The 3-day event will be open from 9am – 6pm. Make sure to check out their silent auction, they’re gift baskets are nothing short of AMAZING!

November 10  |  $65 – 100/player
Nurses Fore Nicaragua
Teravista Golf Club,  4333 Teravista Club Drive, Round Rock

Support future nurses from the St. David’s School of Nursing Department in their mission to provide compassionate care to underprivileged communities on the Island of Ometepe in Nicaragua. Join them for a day on the green as the Nurses fore Nicaragua host dinner, prizes, and a scramble! Registration is at 11:30 AM, Tee off is at 1 PM, and Dinner is at 5:30 PM. The $100 fee includes drink tickets, dinner, golf carts and golf balls. Players can rent clubs if desired. They are to keep pace with the group in front of them and play at a 4 1/2 hour pace. Men must wear collared shirts with no inappropriate logos or words. No cut-offs or clothes with tears/holes. The course has a soft spike policy and children under age of 5 are not allowed on the course. Contact Audrey Clark at arc188@txstate.edu to sign up at the discounted rate of $65 for students.

Rockin’ Around the Holiday Bazaar
Clay Madsen Recreation Center,  1600 Gattis School Rd, Round Rock
Those who think it’s never too early for Holiday shopping should definitely mark their calendar for the Rockin’ Around the Holidays Bazaar which will take place at Round Rock’s Clay Madsen Recreation Center on November 11. Visitors of the 15th annual Bazaar, which starts at 9 am, will have the opportunity to shop for unique and handmade items, with the majority being perfect as Christmas gifts for all tastes and ages. The event is free but visitors are encouraged to bring canned food or boxes of Band-Aids to support the Children’s hospital.

Santa’s Wonderland
Bass Pro Shops, 200 Bass Pro Dr, Round Rock
Nobody celebrates Christmas like Bass Pro Shops. Every year Santa’s Wonderland transforms Bass Pro Shops into an immersive holiday experience with rustic Christmas cabins, holiday characters and live elves set amongst snow-covered hills and illuminated Christmas trees. The Christmas village offers remote control trucks, a Lincoln Logs building area, a laser arcade and a foam toy arcade. Families can also spend time at activity tables where they can write a letter to Santa and make Christmas decorations and handmade crafts to take home, all for free. Upon arrival in-store, visit the Bass Pass Ticket Depot located at the entrance of Santa’s Wonderland to pick up a time-stamped pass. Return to see Santa at the time marked on the Bass Pass to share Christmas wishes and take a photo. Free Bass Pass reservations are available in-store on a first-come, first-served basis; weeknights have the most availability.

Bass Pro Shops will donate 100 percent of customer contributions to USO Care Packages, which are shipped directly to active service members overseas, and AMVETS. The efforts are just one part of Bass Pro Shops significant commitment to supporting active duty military, veterans and their families including employing thousands of veterans and offering a monthly military/veteran discount.

Santa Shuffle
Downtown Georgetown Square,  116 W 8th St Suite 207, Georgetown
Holiday shopping season in Georgetown begins with the Santa Shuffle (former Ladies Night Out) on November 16, starting at 5pm. For a fee of $15, you will get a Santa-decorated cup which will be filled up for you as you stroll the shops in Downtown Georgetown Square. Please note that while you will be able to choose what will be poured into your cup, it will not always be alcohol. Participants are encouraged to dress-up in festive clothing. For more information and to purchase your cup, please visit the Downtown Georgetown Association’s website.

Teravista Today Magazine Launch Party
The Ranch House at Teravista Golf Club,  4332 Teravista Club Drive, Round Rock
Come out and meet your neighbors for a fun, casual reception celebrating the launch of the new Teravista Today social publication!!  Magazine publisher, Cindy Taylor and the Teravista Today team will host an evening of good food, live music and great company! Heavy hors d’eouvres provided, cash bar available, Cocktail attire recommended. Photos taken may be published in an upcoming Teravista Today issue.

Santaland Diaries
Georgetown Palace Theatre,  810 S Austin Ave, Georgetown
Kick off the holiday theatre season with David Sedaries’ The Santaland Diaries at the Georgetown Palace Theatre. One of America’s favorites in theatres during the Holidays for over two decades, the one-man, one-act play will be on stage during weekends from November 17 to December 30. For additional information and tickets ($35 adults), please go to the Theatre’s official website.

Youth Scholarship Benefit Golf Tournament
Twin Creeks Country Club,  3201 Twin Creeks Club Dr, Cedar Park
Golfers and golf enthusiasts are invited to join the Youth Scholarship Benefit Golf Tournament which will be held at Twin Creeks Country Club on November 20. Organized by the City of Cedar Park Parks and Recreation to support the area’s young in need through scholarships, the event is all about the love of golf!  The entry of $100, which includes lunch, refreshments and driving range cart as well as prizes and contests. To register, please visit the City of Cedar Park’s website and go to the Parks and Recreation Department.

November 23  |  $25 – 30
5th Annual Turkey Trot
Downtown Georgetown Square,  116 W 8th Street, Georgetown
Take part of the 5th Annual Turkey Trot and run/walk 1 or 5 miles with your family, friends or colleagues. Starting and ending in Downtown Georgetown Square, the traditional Thanksgiving Day run is suitable for all ages and fitness levels, including strollers. There will also be a special run for the youngest runners – Kids’ Fun Run which is free of charge. To register ($25 Georgetown Running Club members, $30 non-members), please visit the Georgetown Running Club’s website. Proceeds from registration fees will benefit the Williamson County Meals on Wheels and Friends of Georgetown Parks and Recreation.

November 24  |  Free
Lighting of the Square
Downtown Georgetown Square,  116 W 8th St, Georgetown
Be a part of the spectacular Lighting of the Square, which officially kick-starts the Christnas season in Georgetown! Besides enjoying the sight of thousands of lights adorning the Square, visitors will also be able to sing along their favorite Christmas songs, sip hot chocolate, treat themselves with delicious cookies as well as look for perfect Christmas gifts in Downtown stores as they will be open late. The event, which starts at 5.30 pm, is free of charge.
