Things to Do In and Around Teravista- Aug 2017


The warmth of August still has us craving cold drinks and ice cream sundaes! But there’s still plenty of ways to enjoy the warm weather with the fam before to school starts back up. Here’s just a few of our favorite Things to Do around town in August:

The Annual Austin Ice Cream Festival is fun for the whole family. Games, activities, contests, live entertainment and of course, ice cream, will keep you cool and happy.

Back to School Splash Bash
Wildflower Clubhouse,  1000 Wildflower Club Dr, Georgetown, TX 78626
Join your neighbors at Teravista’s annual Splash Bash from 11am – 1pm. There will be food, drinks and fun activities, so come out to celebrate the end of summer and the beginning of a new school year!

August 19 | Free admission
13th Annual Bat Fest
Statesman Bat Observation Ctr 305 S Congress Ave Austin, TX
The event includes 5 million Mexican free-tailed bats emerging from under the bridge at dusk, 3 stages with live music, more than 75 arts & crafts vendors, delicious food and drinks, fun children’s activities, a bat costume contest and other bat activities.

August 19-20 | Free admission
Austin Pet Expo
Palmer Events Center 900 Barton Springs Rd, Austin, TX
Check out tons of pet-friendly exhibitors and rescues, and see live demos in positive-reinforcement obedience training.

August 20 | Free admission
(with donation of three non-perishable food items or a $5 cash donation to the Central Texas Food Bank)
Austin Chronicle Hot Sauce Festival

If you wanna beat the heat this summer then you gotta eat the heat! Join the Austin Chronicle for one of the world’s largest hot sauce festivals with as many as 10,000 spectators each year.

August 26 | Free admission
(with donation of two canned goods or a $2 cash donation)
7th Annual Quesoff
Mohawk 912 Red River St, Austin
Around 30 vendors of all shapes and sizes – restaurants, top chefs, home-cooks, neighbors, brother, sisters will all go head to head in four categories – Meaty, Spicy, Veggie and Wild Card.
