Friends Becoming Family

friends-becoming-family1Austin and Rocky Bush found their new home in Teravista the same way many of us have, driving through the neighborhood and falling in love with its tree-lined roads, golf course views and convenience to just about everything.

The couple married 6 years ago and have a beautiful Siberian Husky named Faith. Their fondness for the Teravista community grew as they made efforts to wave and make conversation with their neighbors and passers-by. Rocky says, “I like the friendliness of everyone.  When I’m outside working out, there are other people being active and they always wave.  We have a great relationship with our neighbors.  Teravista reminds me of my childhood neighborhood where everyone knew everyone and had relationships.”

The Bush’s are lucky to have their closest friends live right next door to them – the Kings (Rebecca and Jeff) and the Willifords (Abby and Jeff).  “We refer to ourselves as ‘KingBushFord,’” states Rocky.

True to the adage “friends are your chosen family,” KingBushFord share life together by being present and supportive and by encouraging each other physically, mentally and spiritually.  The family friends vacation together, share meals at the table, welcome new additions to the family, house-sit, pet-sit and babysit. The wives of KingBushFord even completed their first triathalon together last September! The women trained for 4 months to prepare for a 1500 m swim, 22 mile bike and 6.2 mile run and tweeted their journey (twitter: @KingBushFord). What an encouraging group of neighbors who turned friends and became like family!
